The footprint module maps out where you stand today. You enter your annual energy and water consumption, along with the number of guests. Based on this, the platform calculates your consumption and CO₂ emissions per person per night, and anonymously compares you with accommodations similar to yours.
What the module does and doesn’t measure
Included: electricity, gas, heating oil, pellets, solar energy, heat pumps, and other energy sources, plus your water consumption. This results in your CO₂ emissions from your own combustion (scope 1) and from purchased energy (scope 2).
Not included: waste, food, guest mobility, biodiversity. This is a conscious choice, not an oversight. See What a footprint is, and what it isn’t.
The route in brief
- You create an accommodation, or your accommodation is already listed.
- You create a reporting year of twelve months.
- You enter your occupancy: room nights and person-nights.
- You enter your energy and water measurements, or have them automatically retrieved from EnergyID.
- You publish the year. From then on, you can see the benchmark.
- You create a report and an infographic.

Steps 1 to 4 take the most time, and only the first time. The following year is mostly just updating.
What you need to get started
Your address, your occupancy figures, your annual electricity and gas consumption, and your water consumption. That’s all you need to start. You can fill in the rest later.
If you want to see the results first, start with Quick start. If you want to collect everything first, check What data do you need.
How much time it takes
Count on half an hour for an initial result if you have your invoices at hand. A fully completed year with all energy sources, documents, and monthly data takes about two to three hours, spread over a few sessions.
