It doesn’t calculate anything that you can’t verify yourself.

The four quadrants

Mandatory criteria. How many of the 22 mandatory criteria have been completed, and how many of those are also in order. This is a gateway: a single mandatory criterion that is not in order will hold up your entire application. Hence the red bar.

Optional criteria. How many points you have collected out of the 45 optional criteria, compared to the threshold of 32 points. The bar shows where that threshold lies.

Estimated price. An indication based on your company size, with the assumption listed below. You can switch between micro, SME, and large yourself to see the difference. It is not a quote.

Process. The five steps from file to logo, including the Belgian competent authority: the FPS Public Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment, via ecolabel.be. Step three is an assessment with an on-site inspection.

The cards below

Card

Purpose

Profile check

The seven questions. If not filled in, it will say so with a start button.

Documents

What you already have, and which documents could serve which criteria. Use Manage documents to open the document file for your accommodation.

Points for improvement

Criteria that you have completed but do not meet: red for mandatory, amber for optional, with a button to go there immediately.

Submission package

Generate the verification form and the evidence zip file.

At the top is a strip showing what is ready to be imported from your footprint: energy consumption, CO₂ footprint, share of renewables, and water consumption. If you don’t have a published year yet, it will say that you should start that first.

Reporting to the competent authority

If you have the EU Ecolabel, you must submit your consumption data and your internal evaluation report to the competent authority every two years (criterion 5.2), for the first time within two years of your application. The Reporting to the competent authority card is at the bottom of the dashboard for this purpose. When collapsed, it shows your next deadline; use Details to open it.

Application date. The cycle starts here. If you have had the label for some time, enter the original application date; the platform will calculate your next deadline. You can also enter the same date in your accommodation form, under Labels already obtained.

Assemble the package. You will receive a zip file with your consumption data from the last two published years, your objectives and their status, your sustainability report if you had one made, and a cover letter. If anything is missing, the card will tell you.

Register as sent. You send the package yourself. Then enter the date and the recipient here. This is your declaration: the platform cannot see if the email has actually been sent.

As soon as your application date is filled in, declaration 5.2 in the wizard will automatically be set to yes. If a deadline passes without a registered submission, this will be stated literally in the explanation for 5.2 and the card will turn red.

Waste and chemical products are not included in the package, as the platform does not measure them. Criterion 5 does ask for them; you provide those yourself. The cover letter mentions this.

You can also receive a reminder email; see Emails you may receive.

The theme cards

Seven cards, one per theme, in the order in which they usually yield the most: Energy & CO₂, Water & wastewater, Waste, Purchasing & consumption, Environment & outdoors, Guests & communication, General management. For each card, you can see how many criteria are completed, how many are in order, and how many points you earned out of the total possible. The entire card is clickable.

The color codes on the cards indicate the type of work involved: Quick win, Doable, Investment, Skip and N/A. This is an estimate to help you choose where to start, not a judgment on the criterion.

Two counts side by side, and that is intentional. Completed means: reviewed and answered, ready to submit. In order means: you also comply with it.
